Powering ECT Aviation’s new express cargo routes
Republic of Ireland-based ECT Aviation is entering time-critical airfreight operations by acquiring its first Britten-Norman BN2T-4S Islander. Operations will link Lyon Saint Exupéry airport with destinations in North Africa, targeting fast logistics for sensitive cargo, including pharmaceuticals and valuables.
Flights will be launched late this year, under a German AOC through Pro Air and in partnership with Avico. A second Islander is scheduled for delivery in early 2026. ECT’s new cargo fleet will complement its existing PC-12 NGX operations in business and Medevac aviation.
"The BN2T-4S combines short-runway capability and modern avionics – ideal for remote freight operations," said managing director Fabrice Jounot. With a 30% larger cabin, the Islander is tailored for rugged, flexible missions, especially on underserved regional routes. (ah)
