Prologis builds on brownfield

In autumn 2019, Prologis purchased a 60,000 sqm in Datteln (North Rhine Westphalia, Germany), where it plans to set a logistics facility. Due to the good cooperation with the city of Datteln, the logistics estate developer was able to start building the speculative 27,000 sqm logistics hub already in February 2020. It can be divided into three parts and will be completed in September 2020.

The areas will be available for future customers as from October 2020. "Over the last few years we have had very good experience with speculative developments," says Christina Deuss, market officer Germany, Prologis.

"The shortage of suitable real estate and the good economic climate in Germany have generated a high demand for logistics facilities at sought-after locations like the Ruhr area. Many of our speculative developed properties have fully rented out they were completed." (mw)
