Promising start of Paris Air Show
On day one of the Paris Air Show 2025, Saudi Arabia’s lessor AviLease placed its first Airbus order, confirming an order for ten Airbus A350F freighters and 30 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
The agreement includes options for twelve more A350Fs, underlining the lessor’s confidence in the new-generation widebody freighter.
The A350F features the industry’s largest cargo door, over 70% composite structure and a 46 t lower take-off weight than rival types. It offers 20% lower fuel consumption and will be the only freighter to meet Icao’s 2027 CO₂ rules.
AviLease CEO Edward O’Byrne highlighted the deal’s role in shaping a modern, sustainable cargo fleet. Airbus EVP Benoît de Saint-Exupéry called the order a strong endorsement of the A350F as the future benchmark for long-haul airfreight. (ah)
