PSA Halifax welcomes new service
PSA Halifax has announced the arrival of the Amerigo service, a joint operation by CMA CGM, Cosco Shipping, OOCL and ONE, with its inaugural call made by the CMA CGM Ambition on 25 November 2025. This new service is set to enhance direct trade links between the Mediterranean and North America, offering Canadian exporters and importers expanded options and improved connectivity via key Mediterranean and US east coast ports.
Duncan Glass, managing director of PSA Halifax, emphasised the service's role in improving global trade flows and providing faster transit times to Canadian markets, complemented by seamless access to Montreal, Toronto and the US Midwest through Canadian National Railway. The Amerigo service also positions PSA Halifax as a strategic cold-chain gateway, enabling the rapid transfer of time-sensitive refrigerated goods. Fulvio Fracassi, president and CEO of the Halifax port authority, welcomed the Amerigo service, highlighting its potential to enhance supply chain connectivity and diversify Canadian trade opportunities.
