
Q3 figures favourable for Tanger Med
Favourable business operations led to growth in Q3/2017 for Tanger Med Port (Morocco). Its container terminal traffic reached 2.41 million teu at the end of the period, 12% more year-on-year. TIR unit numbers rose by 10% to 215,000. The flow of finished vehicles, 604,000 units in all, grew by 4% compared to 2016.
The units included 295,000 vehicles handled at the two Renault vehicles terminals. Some 192,000 vehicles stemmed from the Renault Mellousa plant, an increase of 10% compared to the year before.
Refined product traffic at the hydrocarbon terminal amounted to 5.6 million t for Q3/2017, (+0.5%). The Marhaba 2017 campaign, which lasted from June to 15 September 2017, recorded overall traffic of 1.6 million passengers, 400,000 vehicles and 4,200 buses, a slight increase of 1 % compared to Marhaba 2016.
