Qatar Airways inks partnership with Art Basel
Qatar Airways has signed a global partnership with Art Basel, the world’s leading contemporary art fair.
The airline will support all five annual editions – including Basel (which opened today, 19 June), Paris, Hong Kong, Miami Beach and Doha (starting in 2026). The new edition in the Qatari capital marks Art Basel’s Middle East debut and reflects Qatar’s ambition to grow as a cultural hub.
Group CEO Badr Al-Meer called the alliance a "strategic alignment" of two respected brands. Art Basel CEO Noah Horowitz praised Qatar Airways as a "world-class hospitality partner".
The first Doha edition will be held in February 2026 at the M7 creative hub and Msheireb Design District (pictured). The Doha fair is organised in collaboration with QC+ and Qatar Sports Investments.
Basel-based ITJ spoke directly to Qatar Airways Cargo and learnt that the latter isn't presently part of this partnership. (ah)
