Race horses as first guests on Southern African service

The Hong-Kong-based neutral air cargo broker and virtual airline Aero Africa launched its inaugural cargo flight on its new weekly scheduled freighter service Johannesburg - Mauritius - Johannesburg last weekend, on 10 October 2020.

The B737-300F flew from JNB to MRU with 18 highly pedigreed race horses for the Mauritius Turf Club on a challenging night operation, fully compliant with Iata's live animal regulations, with the primary objective to ensure the safety of the horses, and returned full with commercial cargo.

Aero Africa expressed its thanks to partner airline Star Air Cargo and its Mauritius GSA CEL Aviation "for their commitment and support on this new service." (ah)
