Rail and truck bring olive oil to Belgium

Transfesa has enhanced its intermodal transport services for food products within Europe by adding a new weekly connection to its network.

Over the past two months, Transfesa has been transporting olive oil from Spain to Belgium via a new international route. It is a door-to-door intermodal link with two points of origin, from Seville and from Malaga.

The weekly service combines road and rail transport. The crates of olive oil are first trucked from their point of origin to the logistics terminal of Almussafes (Valencia). From there they travel in containers by rail, via Dourges, to Belgium. The final leg is also carried out by road. (ben)
