RCG expanding intermodal network
The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) is expanding its international 'TransFer' network with new direct connections and increased round trips.
A new route links Sopron (Hungary) and Arad (Romania), enabling 24-hour conventional wagonload transport with added logistics services. In addition the Genk–Curtici intermodal route will now operate six weekly round trips, improving links between Belgium and Romania. Meanwhile, the Belgrade–Rijeka service increases to three weekly roundtrips, supporting demand between Serbia and the Croatian port.
After two months in operation, the Vienna–Duisburg route shows high utilisation rates, according to RCG, and complements its Budapest–Duisburg corridor. These expansions aim to strengthen RCG’s European rail logistics offer with reliable scheduled services. (js)
