Regular train services to Wuhan resume

The first freight train has run from Wuhan (China) to the premises of Hutchison Ports Duisburg (formerly DeCeTe) in Germany since the corona pandemic broke out. Wuhan, which has been Duisburg's twin city since 1982, and the entire Hubei province were closed to goods and passenger traffic for around two months.

The port of Duisburg was also affected by the massive restrictions in the Hubei province and noted a substantial decrease – particularly in March 2020 - in the freight haulage sector from China and other Asian countries such as South Korea. At present, some 40 trains a week now run between Duisburg and various destinations in China.  (ben)
