Report on future road transport readiness
The Magaya Corporation, in partnership with Adelante SCM, has released a report entitled 'Freight Forwarding at a Crossroads: Preparing for 2026 and Beyond'.
The study highlights challenges for logistics services providers, including gaps in AI readiness, uneven technology investment and customer expectations. According to the findings, 45% of forwarders are automating workflows such as compliance, documentation and invoicing, yet 20% of smaller firms report no major plans for modernisation, compared with 6% of larger firms.
Nearly half of respondents cite limited AI expertise as their main barrier to adoption. At the same time, 90% identify trusted customer relationships as the most important factor for success, with smaller operators placing even greater weight on this (97%). "The greatest risk in this moment isn’t the turbulence itself, it’s standing still," said Adrian Gonzalez, President of Adelante SCM. (js)
