Rhenus to strengthen Kyrgyz transit

Rhenus has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Kyrgyz Temir Zholu, the national railway company of the Kyrgyz republic, to strengthen freight transport and logistics in Central Asia.

The agreement, concluded during the German-Kyrgyz Economic Forum in Cholpon-Ata, aims to enhance Kyrgyzstan’s transit role, develop logistics facilities and attract cargo flows.

Rhenus will contribute expertise in multimodal logistics, terminal development and railfreight operations, while the cooperation also covers consulting, analytics, and staff training. The partnership aligns with the planned China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway link, which endeavours to connect to the trans-Caspian international transport route, shorten the corridor between China and Europe, and create new opportunities for regional trade integration.
