Ruscon launches dedicated train from Ust-Luga
Ruscon, one of Russia’s leading container transport operators, has launched a new blocktrain from Ust-Luga port to Nizhniy Novgorod to supply the Volkswagen assembly plant that is located there. The dedicated trains, carrying 54 x 40 foot containers of CKD parts, will leave the Russian port on the Baltic Sea four times a week, taking two and a half days to reach Nizhniy Novgorod. Ruscon expects to carry between 700 and 800 40 ft containers a month on the service. The boxes, which originate from production plants in Mexico, arrive at Ust-Luga on a new weekly feeder service launched by Hapag-Lloyd. (ben)
