RZD's first container train with cellulose to Iran

RZD Logistics has for the first time dispatched a container train carrying sulphate pulp to the Aprin dry port in Iran, marking an important milestone in the development of the North – South international transport corridor. The train, consisting of 62 forty-foot containers, travelled over 13 days along the eastern route through Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to reach the port of Aprin.

This shipment demonstrates the company's systematic efforts to establish comprehensive logistics solutions, strengthening the route and developing the corridor via Iran. Oleg Poleev, CEO of RZD Logistics, noted that this dispatch is a practical realisation of their strategy to test new logistical routes and establish regular services. Aprin, a modern multimodal logistics hub located at the intersection of Iran’s East – West and North – South corridors, has been operational since May 2025 and is already reaching planned capacity figures.
