SAL Heavy Lift strengthens engineering team
SAL Heavy Lift Singapore has selected Alexander Poetz, a senior project engineer and naval architect at its Hamburg headquarters, for its Asia/Australasia base in Singapore. Poetz studied naval architecture, offshore technology and applied sciences and has a degree in engineering. The company says its operations in the region above are becoming increasingly complex and they require more engineering hours and real-time solutions that demand the expertise of someone like Poetz.
For example, SAL Heavy Lift is currently busy moving various sections for Australia’s new offshore gas installations, or handling giga-projects such as Ichthys off the coast of Darwin. SAL Heavy Lift, a member of Japan’s K Line Group, has a fleet of 16 heavylift vessels and specialises in sea transport of heavylift and project cargo. (elg)
