Samskip launches direct Morocco–Europe service

Samskip has launched a new direct shortsea service connecting Agadir and Casablanca with the UK and Netherlands, revolutionising Moroccan exports and European trade. The weekly sailings support a variety of cargo types, including fresh produce, automotive parts and chemicals, with seamless multimodal connections across Europe. The service enhances speed, reliability and sustainability, using dedicated vessels and advanced reefer technology, such as GPS-equipped containers with Controlled Atmosphere technology to keep products fresh for up to 45 days.

This shift from road to sea allows Moroccan exporters to cut CO2 emissions by up to 80%, while benefiting from faster, more predictable logistics. Samskip's expert customs clearance teams in Morocco and Europe guarantee a simple, transparent import/export process, strengthening long-term trade partnerships. The new route opens a significant gateway for scale, efficiency, and environmentally friendly growth between North Africa and Europe.
