Saudia Cargo returns to Shanghai in force


Saudia Cargo has expanded its cargo network with the addition of Shanghai's airport to its flight schedules which commenced on 15 August 2020. The carrier now operates two flights a week, originating from Riyadh and Jeddah using a B777F which has a 95-t capacity. Saudia's widebody passenger fleet had suspended its scheduled China service on 2 February.

 

Using charter flights booked by Saudia Cargo clients, the company has so far transported over 2,000 t of medical and pharmaceutical supplies required for facing the Covid-19 pandemic. T

 

he company also operated 29 unscheduled all-cargo flights from Shanghai to the kingdom to meet the growing demand for cargo. In July, Saudia Cargo operated over 1,500 flights, whereby 500 of these services used passenger aircraft dedicated for international cargo operations. (ah)
