Saving CO2 in heavy goods transport
Gruber Logistics, a freight forwarder based in South Tyrol, is expanding its book & claim solution, making it one of the first companies worldwide to pave the way for decarbonisation in large and heavy goods transport.
The tool now also allows customers to book heavy goods services using low-emission fuel, even if it is not physically available on the route or is not suitable for the freight.
Combined transport by rail and barge has also rarely been a viable alternative for this segment. Here too, Gruber Logistics is promoting decarbonisation, by offering to tranship large and heavy cargo to these eco-friendly modes of transport whenever possible. (ben)
