Scania growing in Morocco

In the past two years, vehicle manufacturer Scania Maroc sold about 500 trucks annually, up from about 180 per year in the previous decade. The truck manufacturer has now a market share of 22.5% in Morocco. The country's truck operators are typically small entities, but a few road hauliers own between 100 and 200 vehicles and rely heavily on the expanding network of roads and highways. Long-haulage trucks dominate the market, together with mining and construction vehicles. Scania Maroc aims to open one or two new service points per year up to 2019, adding to the six existing ones.
