Schneider takes the helm at SAE

System Alliance Europe (SAE), one of Europe’s largest groupage networks, has appointed Tassilo Schneider (on the right) as its new chairman. He succeeded Oliver Rüter, who joined the supervisory board and was named honorary president at SAE’s recent general assembly.

Schneider joined SAE in 2021 and became a board member in 2023. Under his leadership the cooperative expanded to 56 member companies, adding six new partners in the past year alone, including Logika (Greece), Sogedim (Italy) and OB Streem (Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia). Gebrüder Weiss’s Walter Konzett (on the left) will support Schneider in his role.

SAE now has 170 branches in 33 countries and handled 3 million shipments in 2024. The new nine-member supervisory board will elect its chair in July. (ah)
