Scortrans rolls out eCMR
Codognotto and Scortrans have completed a cross-border transport using only the electronic consignment note (eCMR) on the Italy–Austria corridor, in line with EU regulation (EU) 2020/1056.
The operation on 22 May was a part of the EU's 'eFTI4EU' project, included digital signatures by all supply chain stakeholders.
According to Codognotto the digital process reduced paperwork, enhanced traceability and simplified roadside checks. The implementation "showcases the effectiveness of the solutions adopted by the forwarder and carrier along the Italy–Austria corridor," as Codognotto stated. (js)
