SE5000 gains greater protection

Schreiner ProTech has reported that it has developed a customised security solution for Stoneridge’s SE5000 tachograph to detect tampering.

The project, targeting a curved, hard-to-reach plastic surface on the casing, required both a new security seal and an application machine. After six months of development, the solution was successfully integrated into production. The product is certified according to the standards of Germany’s federal office for information security.

“The solution makes our SE5000 even more secure and efficient,” according to Thomas Anderson, a project manager at Stoneridge. The innovation is expected to strengthen tachograph security in the transport sector. (js)
