Seayard chooses Kalmar hybrid straddle carriers
Kalmar will deliver eleven hybrid straddle carriers to Seayard Terminal FOS2 XL in Fos-sur-Mer (France) by Q2/2026.
The order, placed in Q2/2025, also includes 'MyKalmar Insight', to enhance fleet performance. The hybrid units will reduce fuel consumption, CO₂ emissions, and noise levels, compared to diesel-driven models.
Seayard, located in the Marseille-Fos complex and jointly owned by Terminal Investment Limited, APM Terminals and Cosco, aims to boost capacity whilst improving sustainability. CEO Jakob Sidenius praised Kalmar’s service presence and equipment reliability. Kalmar France’s Herve Helluin emphasised the value of the data insights to further optimise operations. (ah)
