Seven Vectron dual-mode locos leased
Rail wagon lessor Northrail has leased seven Siemens Vectron dual-mode locomotives to four railway companies in Germany and has called up three more units under the framework purchase agreement.
The energy-efficient dual-power units are part of a framework purchase agreement for up to 30 Vectron dual-mode locomotives. The first Vectrons will be delivered to the future lessees in October 2021.
The four-axle dual-power engines combine the advantages of diesel locomotives with those of electrically powered units. On electrified lines the electric engine saves fuel and emissions. (ben)
