SkyCargo solutions for engines
Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of the Dubai-based carrier, has established a new vertical, called ‘Aerospace and Engineering’, which combines the expertise, speed and efficiency that ‘Aircraft Engines’ and ‘Emirates AOG’ previously offered.
One solution it offers is entitled ‘Aircraft Engines’, dedicated to transporting the industry’s most critical and high-value components that often need to move very quickly. It provides customers with global operations and optimised booking processes.
Emirates SkyCargo’s divisional senior vice-president Badr Abbas said that “moving such special items is always a challenge and, having invested in our infrastructure and network, is a challenge that we’re ready to meet, thanks to our technical expertise, our proprietary and innovative technology and our infrastructure.”
The service will see certified loadmasters supervise the loading, securing and unloading of engines,” he continued, “managing end-to-end transfers with special handling techniques and equipment, including shock absorbing dollies.”
Furthermore, the vertical will serve the engineering, defence, aviation and space sectors, including manufacturers of satellites and other space technology and governments requiring security for specialised shipments.
