Sneltransport to run test hydrogen truck for DHL

DHL Express has become the first entity in the Deutsche Post DHL Group to test hydrogen-fueled trucks for long-haul runs. Together with its customer Apple, DHL is running a pilot project for the vehicle, as part of the Interreg NW Europe programme called H2-Share.

The truck, operated by the Dutch firm Nassau Sneltransport, will cover around 200 km daily on a cross-border route between Breda (Netherlands) and Brussels (Belgium). The unit will be refueled every day at a Wystrach mobile station in Breda.

The lorry will cary deliveries of DHL Express’s customer Apple. Up to 350 t of CO2 can be saved in the pilot project itself with the new technology. (ben)
