There is news beyond the war in Ukraine, the Chinese shutdowns and rising fuel prices. The St Gallen-based Swiss Inter Rail Group has established its first office in Chennai (India), to be led by branch manager Vijayan Munusamy.

Inter Rail India has ben active in India since 2010; it runs locations in Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Mumbai, and is now strengthening its network in the south of the country with a focus on customers in Bangalore, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Tuticorin and Cochin, as well as other southern regions.

"The reason we opened a Chennai office is to cater to the South Indian market, which is a hub for engineering goods, food products, garments and many other industries,” said Vijay Narayan, managing director of Inter Rail India.
