Special transport for vintage cars

It is nothing new for the ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) to transport cars and car parts on the railways. But when 28 vintage cars and five motorbikes have to be carried from Vienna to Wels in Austria, this is no commonplace task, not even for RCG.

In cooperation with Classic Car Auctions by Julius Hügler 1875 and the Wels fair, the carrier recently carried out the special transport per auto train. The precious cargo was loaded onto the train at the main station in Vienna. ÖBB customer Hoedlmayr supplied the equipment.

Then the cargo was transported directly to the railway station in Wels, where the vehicles were unloaded and taken to the fairground. They will be on display there from 20 to 22 September 2019. (ben)
