Steve Angel appointed CEO of CSX
CSX has appointed Steve Angel as its new president and chief executive officer, effective 28 September. He succeeds Joe Hinrichs, who has stepped down after three years in the role.
Angel, a veteran of more than 45 years in industry leadership, previously headed Praxair and Linde, overseeing their merger and building the world’s largest industrial gases group. He also spent over two decades at General Electric, including in locomotive and rail operations, and currently chairs GE Vernova’s board.
Chairman John Zillmer said the board chose Angel for his ability to guide companies through transformation and create long-term value. CSX confirmed operating performance remains strong and reiterated its outlook for full-year volume growth. (ah)
