Strengthening its Caribbean service - New ship for CaytransBBC
Dan-Gulf and BBC Chartering expanded CaytransBBC’s fleet by adding the «BBC Ocean» in mid-February.
BBC Chartering and Dan-Gulf Shipping jointly announced recently that the BBC Ocean joined CaytransBBC’s fleet in mid-February. The BBC Ocean is a 6,150 dwt ’tween-deck multipurpose vessel with 329,450 cbf bale capacity featuring a 120 t lifting capacity. The BBC Ocean is operated by CaytransBBC, which offers a weekly breakbulk liner service from Houston and Mobile to the northern coast of South America, the Caribbean and Central America.
Steady growth
Mac Bruton, Dan-Gulf’s vice-president in charge of sales and marketing, explained that «the larger vessel and its greater capacity allow the line to provide higher levels of service to its clients. Over and above this, adding a larger vessel to our fleet reflects our positive outlook on the market and is a direct result of a steady and healthy growth in our services. We believe that the BBC Ocean will allow us to offer better options for larger parcels to and from the northern coast of South America.»
CaytransBBC is a joint venture between BBC Chartering & Logistics, and Caytrans Project Services (Americas). The CaytransBBC service is managed by Dan-Gulf Shipping.
The companies said that with sales jointly handled by BBC Chartering USA and Dan-Gulf, the service has enjoyed growth over the years, thanks to its customer service, its professional operations and its competitive pricing.
CaytransBBC operates five to six box-shaped multipurpose ’tween-deck vessels between 3,500 and 6,150 dwt with lifting capacities of up to 120 t.
