Strengthening the North-South route

Russia’s RZD Logistics, Kazakhstan’s KTZ Express and the Transport and Logistics Centre of Turkmenistan have signed an MoU with the aim of establishing a joint rail service on the Russian North-South route.

In addition to an expansion of the rail infrastructure, the partners are also planning to launch a regular train service for container transports between Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Russia. The shuttle service is intended to create short delivery times and attractive prices also for transports of agricultural products and foodstuffs.

RZDL emphasised that the signing of the MoU was an important step in the process of bringing the project partners together. (ben)
