Strengthening ties with the Caribbean

The Dutch company Vertraco Shipping and Bergé, as its representative agent in Spain, intends to intensify commercial activity between the Iberian peninsula, the Caribbean and the northern coast of South America. This will be done through the regular Europe Caribbean Line (ECL), with calls at the ports of Bilbao and Santander. Upon inducement, the liner will be able to call any port in Northern Spain.

This monthly service also includes regular calls from the ports of Antwerp, Vlissingen and Rotterdam, Hull, Bridgetown (Barbados), Georgetown (Guyana), Paramaribo (Suriname), Point Lisas (Trinidad) and Matanzas/Palua (Venezuela) - being one of the few regular lines regularly calling this last country.

The most favoured cargo sectors will be those related to the iron and steel industry, rolling stock and yachts and all kind of manufacturing industry, including project cargo. (cd)
