Sustainable food deliveries in Finland

Finland has one of Europe’s most developed biogas networks, comprising 33 public stations. With such an excellent infrastructure in place, it is not surprising that Havi Logistics switched half of its eight-strong Finnish fleet to Scania biogas trucks recently.

The other half of Havi’s Finnish fleet may still be diesel, but these four trucks will now be run on hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO), which will contribute to reducing the company’s annual carbon emissions from transport by 83%.

Meanwhile, the Havi logistics centre has undergone a major refurbishment to make it more energy efficient. In total, the measures will reduce Havi Logistics’ carbon emissions in Finland by 1,388 t per annum. (ben)
