Swedish Orient Line names new CEO
Effective 1 August 2021, privately owned shipping and logistics company Swedish Orient Line (SOL) will welcome Tommy Kalin (photo) as its new CEO. He succeeds SOL’s CEO Ragnar Johannsson, who will remain CEO of shipping company Wallenius SOL, which SOL and Wallenius Lines created two years ago.
Kalin has served as CFO of SOL for the past five years, and in the same position at the new company since it was created two years ago. Before joining SOL, Kalin worked for Geodis.
Industry around the Bay of Bothnia, Wallenius SOL’s area of operation is developing rapidly, which has given the company’s business a significant boost.
With Kalin’s promotion each company will have its own CEO and thus be able to focus on its own future and growth. Johannsson: “We are now creating space to concentrate on the development of both companies going forward. There is a lot going on in the industry and demand for our services is increasing, so we need to focus fully on this.” (amh)
