Swedlink now also belongs to Rhenus

Rhenus continues its acquisition strategy in Sweden. As the Swedish news portal Svensk Åkeritidning reports, the logistics services provider took over freight forwarder Swedlink, which runs offices in Stockholm and Malmö, already at the beginning of this year.

Swedlink’s employees had held 70% of the company’s shares since it was founded in 2013. The remaining shares belonged to Roy Hansson and Christer Steingruber. Swedlink has a staff of 14 employees and generates a turnover of roughly SEK 100 million (EUR 9.3 million).

The company’s main focus is on providing freight transport services in Western Europe. According to CEO Claes Ostrander, Swedlink has worked with Rhenus before, so the change of ownership is a logical step. (mw)
