Swiss federal roads office elects new vice director


At the beginning of February 2020, Pascal Mertenat will assume the position of vice director of the Swiss federal roads office (Fedro) and head of the road infrastructure division, western region.

 

Mertenat is from the canton of Jura. He is married and has three adult children. He graduated from the Haute Ecole d'ingénierie in Yverdon (Switzerland) with a HTL degree in civil engineering. He also gained a postgraduate degree in public management and policy (CeMaP) from the Swiss graduate school of public administration (Idheap) in Lausanne.

 

Mertenat has worked for the canton of Jura since 1999, most recently as a civil engineer and head of the canton’s infrastructure division. Mertenat will replace Jean-Bernard Duchoud, who has left the federal roads office. (mw)
