Swissport names Ajay Barolia EVP Cargo North America
Swissport has appointed Ajay Barolia as Executive Vice President Cargo North America, reporting directly to CEO Nelson Camacho. Since joining in June 2024, he has played a key role in strengthening Swissport’s regional cargo business. With over 30 years of industry expertise, Barolia is known for his mastery of global standards, operational leadership and commitment to digital transformation and sustainability.
Supported by Peter Weir, SVP Commercial Cargo NOAM, and four regional VPs, he will focus on sales, operations and QHSE. Barolia said his priorities include expanding the footprint through joint ventures and acquisitions, and investing in automation to modernise key gateways. "In the long term, I envision Swissport becoming synonymous with digital, green and resilient cargo operations," he added. (ah)
