Swissterminal offers storage space

Because of the corona crisis and the resultant production shutdown, many imported goods can no longer be delivered to their destination so that containers pile up in the sea ports. On the other hand, Chinese exporters have an urgent need for empty equipment from Europe.

Swissterminal now offers several options to ensure that supply chains remain open and running. To relieve the burden on warehousing facilities in the northern and southern ports, Swissterminal now provides storage spaces in its locations in Switzerland for interim solutions.

The locations in Basel and Birsfelden have regular inland barge connections to the ports of Rotterdam (the Netherland) and Antwerp (Belgium). From Frenkendorf and Niederglatt there are train links to Rotterdam and Antwerp, and to Genoa, La Spezia, Ravenna and Trieste in Italy. Furthermore, a new train connection from Switzerland to the cities of Xian and Hefei in China has been in place since the beginning of April. (mw)
