Tapa Ema and Bifa unite to combat freight crime

The Transported Asset Protection Association (Tapa Emea) and the British International Freight Association (Bifa) are enhancing their collaboration to combat rising freight crime in the UK, as over 5,800 freight crime incidents were recorded in the UK alone, leading to losses exceeding EUR 72 m.

This partnership comes as the freight crime bill is scheduled for a second reading in parliament. Both organisations will exchange information and security solutions to protect supply chains and support the UK freight industry. Tapa Emea aims to leverage its security standards and training to bolster supply chain resilience against frequent attacks. Bifa emphasises collaboration with Tapa Emea and the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service (Navics) to keep its members informed of risks and implement effective security measures. Tapa's independently certified security standards enhance supply chain security across 67 countries in the Emea region, with its intelligence database providing crucial crime insight.
