Teaming up for towage and pilotage operations
East Java Multipurpose Terminal (EJMT) has partnered with Sinarmas LDA Usaha Pelabuhan (Slup) to provide towage and pilotage services at the Lamongan shorebase in Indonesia. Slup will deploy two azimuth stern drive tugs, delivering 6,200 horsepower and class 1 pilot services, enhancing EJMT’s operational safety and emergency response capacity with advanced firefighting capabilities.
The partners aim to strengthen regional economic growth by facilitating secure vessel and barge movements, starting in October 2024. EJMT supports central Java’s economy, particularly in containerised, breakbulk, and project cargo, and is a joint venture between ICTSI and East Log Holdings. (pb)
