TecPlata links to Ushuaia
TecPlata, International Container Terminal Services Inc's Buenos Aires box hub, has launched a maritime service to Ushuaia, in cooperation with Patagonia Shipping Lines (PSL).
The connection began on 29 August with the arrival of the 'Argentino II' and creates a logistics corridor to Argentina’s southernmost city, which relies heavily on sea transport, due to limited overland access, according to ICTSI. Newsan, one of Ushuaia’s largest employers, will be one key beneficiary, with consumer electronics assembled in the city distributed nationwide.
TecPlata's board of directors said the new service strengthens supply chain efficiency and reinforces its role as a logistics hub, complementing earlier partnerships, such as the collaboration with Ocean Network Express (ONE). (js)
