Ted Baun next Greenbrier CCO

Oregon-based Greenbrier Companies, which designs, builds and markets freight railcars in North America, Europe and Brazil, has appointed Ted Baun as its senior vice-president, with plans for him to become chief commercial officer in January 2026.

Baun succeeds Tim Schitter, who will retire at the end of 2025. With over 30 years in the rail industry, Baun brings experience from roles at PNW Railcars, FreightCar America and Mitsui Rail Capital. At PNW, he oversaw tank and freight railcar leasing; at FCA, he led commercial strategy and production planning.

Greenbrier executive vice-president Brian Comstock praised his industry knowledge and his fit for the role. Baun said he’s looking forward to advancing Greenbrier’s leadership in rail solutions, innovation and customer value in North America and beyond. (ah)
