Terminal digitalises yard dispatch
Florida International Terminal (FIT) has expanded its use of Tideworks Technology’s Mainsail TOS by deploying the traffic control aiming to improve safety and yard performance. The system digitally coordinates container moves and equipment dispatch, replacing manual processes such as radio and paper instructions. According to FIT president Justin Weir, the move enables the terminal to improve truck turn times and driver safety, with drivers now remaining in their vehicles during operations. The integration supports real-time dispatching and balanced workloads.
Tideworks provided full implementation support and will continue to offer technical maintenance. The system went live in early 2025, further expanding Tideworks’ presence in South Florida. (js)
