Terminal system marks 15 years of operation
Since its launch at CSX Ohio (USA), technology specialist Tideworks has implemented ‘Intermodal Pro’ its intermodal terminal operating system (TOS), in more than 85 rail terminals. The system supports all types of intermodal facilities, from small manually-managed centres to highly automated terminals.
Intermodal Pro is designed to handle complex automation solutions, including operations with automated wide-span gantry cranes. It is deployed at three of six Class I railroads, including the largest freight railroad in the USA.
Today, the TOS is also live in rail facilities in the UK, enabling operators to digitise workflows and seamlessly integrate terminal systems and partners, according to Tideworks. (ben)
