Testing exhaust emissions in long-haul HGVs

The EU’s Zefes project is currently exploring options to electrify trucks for long-distance heavy goods transport. To this end, the South Tyrolean logistics company Gruber is collecting data from diesel vehicles on a defined route from Verona (Italy) via the Brenner Pass to Southern Germany. The results will define the baseline for later tests with FCEVs (fuel cell electric vehicles).

Gruber is conducting the tests in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute and the companies Ricardo, TNO and Scania. With this broad base, the partners can record and evaluate data with high precision and frequency, using the devices installed in the trucks. (ben)
