The beat goes on for DHL

Deutsche Post DHL Group remains a winner in recent trends and developments. Confirming its preliminary figures announced for 2020 in January, the Germany-headquartered group was able to raise its revenues by 5.5% year-on-year to EUR 66.8 billion and witnessed a substantial uptick in ebitda of 17.4% to more than EUR 4.8 billion.

The company thus clearly exceeded its previously adjusted earnings target of EUR 4.1 to EUR 4.4 billion. One-off effects in 2020 left aside, underlying ebit amounted to even more than EUR 5.4 billion.

For FY 2021, the group anticipates ebit to rise to more than EUR 5.6 billion. Moreover, the company is forecasting a free cash flow of around EUR 2.3 billion and gross capital expenditure of around EUR 3.4 billion this year. These investments will be used to modernise the aircraft fleet at Express, expand national and international parcel infrastructure and drive digital transformation. (sh)
