The bid in the port of Montréal is open

The Canadian port of Montréal has launched a request for qualifications (RFQ) for its Contrecœur container terminal expansion project, thus opening the way for parties to now submit bids. The RFQ will remain open to national and international industry players for the next three months. The goal is to enter into a long-term agreement with the gateway to design, build, finance, operate and maintain its new Contrecœur terminal.

On 10 November more than 100 participants attended a virtual technical briefing open to all potential bidders. “The future Contrecœur container terminal will play a critical role in developing the St Lawrence trade corridor and in ensuiring supplies to Quebec, Ontario and the Midwest of the USA,” said Martin Imbleau, president and CEO of the Montréal Port Authority.

This stage of the procurement process will make it possible to select up to three bidders to participate in a request for proposals, set to begin in the second quarter of 2022.
