The Swedish Club appoints Markus Johansson
The Swedish Club has announced the appointment of Markus Johansson as its new chief financial officer. With over 20 years of international financial leadership, Markus joins the club from Elseco, where he served as group CFO, leading M&A initiatives and transforming financial reporting across operations in five countries.
He previously held senior roles at EF Education First, managing significant restructuring projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia, while enhancing financial governance across regional teams. Additionally, Markus spent over a decade at GAC Group, where he delivered cost reductions, renegotiated key contracts and drove revenue growth in various markets.
Thomas Nordberg, managing director of The Swedish Club, expressed enthusiasm for Markus's appointment, emphasising that his extensive experience will be invaluable in supporting members and strengthening the club's financial position. Markus holds an MSc in business administration from Linköping University and is a certified CMA.
