TIP Group introduces carbon assessment
TIP Group has launched a fleet carbon assessment tool designed to help transport and logistics companies understand how various fleet strategies impact their carbon emissions. In response to evolving EU sustainability regulations like CSRD and EU Taxonomy, the assessment enables companies to navigate increased transparency and compliance requirements, focusing on scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. By providing a clear overview of their GHG inventory, businesses can identify optimal strategies to reduce complexity, minimise costs and enhance their sustainability profile, which can influence capital costs and stakeholder trust.
The assessment considers different asset management models, including ownership, leasing and refurbishment, highlighting their respective environmental impacts and reporting obligations. It also supports circular economy initiatives by promoting refurbishment and leaseback projects to prolong asset life and decrease manufacturing emissions. TIP's approach fosters collaboration across the industry – working with manufacturers, suppliers and customers – to drive ambitious decarbonisation targets and streamline ESG reporting, ultimately accelerating the transition to a low-carbon transportation sector.
