Train carrying 700 t of hazardous goods to Tajikistan

Russian Railways Logistics (RZDL) is handling a heavy rail transport of hazardous goods from Kryolith in Russia to Tajikistan for an aluminium company based in Tajikistan.

The goods will travel more than 2,800 km in covered wagons from Orlovka in Russia's Volgograd region, passing through Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan under strict safety precautions. The transit time is 14 days.

This transport solution also includes a range of services, such as the development and approval of a loading scheme and customs escort of the cargo. RZDL is also working with a shipper to organise the rolling stock and payment of customs duties in Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. (ben)
